Old Glory vs. Moonrize Studios

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

I finally convinced Al to watch the Moonrize studios demo/wedding tonight and for the first time in this process he was genuinely stumped (though I'm sure that possibly had to do with distraction).
His response to the question, "which one do you like better, Old Glory or Moonrize?", was "I don't know". The truth is that coming down to these two videographers took quite some time and there are many variables involved.

It must first be noted that the original videographer that I wanted to hire, Indy Productions, met an unfortunate audience in my parents. They vehemently hated the final product. And, because part of their gift will be the video

Amount of editing:
Old Glory is very documentary but is obviously edited.

Moonrize is pretty highly edited and all action is accompanied by a song.

Cheesy effects:
Both companies are very limited on their use of super cheesy effects which is VERY important to me.

Post Production Influence:
Old Glory has not discussed this with me - TBD
Moonrize is completely open and we will have complete control during post production and can basically make our own video.

Pricing:
Old Glory runs about $2500 whereas Moonrize runs $1500

Deposit:
Old Glory requires about $900 and Moonrize only requires $375

So now it comes down to preference.

So far were are still in debates.
