Savvi Formal Wear at Mall of Georgia

Saturday, June 28, 2008

During our wedding packed Saturday, we were referred to the Savvi formal at the mall by the registry consultant at Dillards. We figured what the heck, we're in wedding mode, let's check it out.

We got to the store and were immediately helped (service was great) by Chris. He was super nice and really patient as we told him what we were looking for and our vision for the men of the bridal party. He tooks us through the store showing us options and Al picked out and tried on two different styles of tuxes before settling on the Ralph Lauren Whitney, pin strip black tux.

It was really cute because he had that expression on his face like "this is the one, and I look good!".

Then we got to choose a style of shoes and decided on the black patent leather celebration shoes with the rounded off square toe.

Next choice was the shirt and we went iwth the white wingtip shirt without pleats and the gold and black button covers.

Then we got to choose what we wanted to outfit the groom in. I have this really weird thing agains cummerbunds (is that how you spell that) and thankfully Al does too. He says it reminds him of prom. So we decided on the vest. I also voted for the tie instead of the bowtie for a more modern feel. Al was cool with that as apparently crooked bowties annoy him. :)

We chose a gold textured vest, a gold paisley tie and the gold pocket square. It looks fantastic together!

Next came the groomsmen outfits. Al still hasn't decided on his side of the bridal party (and neither had I), so we just guesstimated the number and decided to have them all in a shade of green to compliment the wedding colors.

We wanted them to have a similar style to Al's outfit, so we went with the olive textured vest, olive paisley tie and olive pocket square.

Time for the dads.....we chose to put them in a shade of purple to distinguish them from the rest of the bridal party, but again, keep with the similar style. Lyle and Steve will be wearing the rum raisin textured vest, rum raisin paisley tie and rum raisin pocket square.

I know Lyle will protest, but I'm so excited to see him in a tux. I told my mom that I knew he would most likely be uncomfortable, but I'm pulling the "I'm the bride" card on this one. Besides, I KNOW he'll look dashing and since he and my mom are walking me down the aisle, he'll have to dress the part. :)

And finally, since we had planned on having Al's sister Shania as a perhaps a Jr. Bridesmaid, we also wanted to include Oscar in the bridal party. He'll wear the same outfit as Al or he may do the olive set like the rest of the groomsmen. We'll have to see how he feels about the options.

So there we go, our first try at tux shopping was a HUGE success and while we will definitely check out some other options, I'm pretty satisfied with Savvi, so as of now, they are our top contender.
