To Theme or Not to Theme.....

That is the question.

I originally started off with approaching the concept of the themed wedding because my mom bought these elemental fairies as a gift for me, and I really loved them, but also loved the idea of the elements.

So I was originally just using the basic elements, earth - air - fire - water, as a color scheme and decor basis. Which led me to the colors that I really wanted and/or liked.
I loved chocolate, green (any shade), deep russett (orange), gold, copper and navy.

However, I felt like I needed a more cohesive theme and so I parlayed my first choices into what has now become my official theme:

Drumroll please...................

Without further ado I give you:
A Midsummer Night's Dream

Even though the wedding will be in June, I'm going to still consider it Midsummer's and this opened up a veritable floodgate of ideas, colors, decorations, ambiance (maybe even a may pole)....etc.
Once I had this idea in my head, I pretty much ran with it.
I stayed with the original colors (replacing blue w/indigo and shades of deep purple) and since green is Al's favorite color, that will be the main focus for paper products, cake, linens, etc.

I've also opened my eyes to all things sparkly such as chandeliers, hanging crystals, hanging pearls, and white twinkle lights.

So I've started pouring through magazines and websites to find examples of things that I like and want for the reception decor.
Things are progressing nicely.
