The Trolley Barn....Al's first look

Sunday, March 23, 2008

Yesterday after we left the Easter service at the Shrine, I suggested to Al that we go and take a look at the Trolley Barn. This would be his first glance.

The venue was locked, but we were able to look at the patio and look in through the windows to get a general overview of the space.

There had been a wedding there the night before and the draping was still in place.

I was so glad to get to see an example of it instead of just having to envision it in my head.

All the drapery was white, but it gave me the idea of using uplights.

I was thinking of perhaps doing a lavendar uplighting by each of the 3 windows on the non-door side as well as 3 or 4 lining the back wall to give a nice backdrop.

I'm gonna have to chat with Lara to see what she thinks is possible.

We also talked about the chairs and how we just couldn't justify the additional $1,000.00 expense. I think we'll stick with the white plastic folding and do a colored chair cover (NO WHITE).

Al seemed to liked the space (from what he saw). For us the only two cons about this place are the chairs and the parking. I don't think the parking is really that bad at all. There's plenty of space on the street, in the little lot, and across the street, so guests won't have to really walk that far.

Everything else about it completley works out....well, except the rules about no sparklers or bubbles, so I think we have to figure out what to use for a send off.

Can't wait to put the deposit down on the venue.

Then it will be done.
